Kto był dostatecznie bogaty mógł sobie pozwolić na modę, ubierał się w suknie z tiulu, jedwabnego muślinu, szyfonu, krepy chińskiej. Najbardziej ulubione materiały i tkaniny w tym czasie mieniły się barwami liliowymi, jasnoniebieskimi i różowymi.
