5th Grade art club Topography idea. Students begin drawing an organic shape on a large pc construction paper. Cut out - re-trace it on another piece copy the line only a little smaller. Keep up until pieces become small. Once all pieces are cut out - start to glue together put a small piece of styrofoam in between to show height. This is an example of a pattern because there is kind of a regular repetition happening. It is predictable in the sense that the same artwork will continue to go on forever. There are also funky shapes and designs that prove it is a pattern.
