Laura Horvath Is the Second-Fittest Woman on Earth
Laura Horvath 🇭🇺 became the second-fittest woman on Earth at her Games debut in 2018. Three years later, the six-time fittest woman in Hungary finished back on the podium in a familiar position. At the 2021 NOBULL CrossFit Games, Horváth earned seven top-three event wins and added a fourth Games event win to her record. Not only did the 24-year-old post the best score in Event 5 for the women with a time of 11:41.55, but she also beat the top men’s score by eight seconds. 📸: @flsportsguy
15-Year-Old Olivia Kerstetter Nails 202-lb. Snatch
At her first CrossFit Games appearance, Olivia Kerstetter hit a 1-rep-max snatch at 202 lb. (~91.6 kg) for a 17-lb. PR and the event win. After the rest of the competitors in the female divisions took on the event, Kerstetter’s record remained unbroken. The 15-year-old lifted the most weight of any female competitor. Kerstetter earned a total of four event wins and placed first overall in the Girls 14-15 division.

Kyle Kasperbauer Wins Thruster & Wall Walk Event
Masters athlete Kyle Kasperbauer (Men 35-39) roars with excitement as he crosses the finish line to win the final event of the 2021 NOBULL CrossFit Games. “The age group division is definitely excelling,” he said after taking first in Event 9, a couplet of wall walks and thrusters. “The programming is getting harder. Danielle Brandon Dominates Test 1 —East Semifinal
Danielle Brandon's dominance over the field of competitors became noticeable as soon as she grabbed the rope for her first set of hand-over-hand pulls. At 23 minutes, Brandon had finished the final 1,000-m ski and had five minutes to complete her final set of hand-over-hand pulls to snatch the Test 1 record from Fischer. With one final pull well ahead of the rest of the field, Brandon secured a first-place finish and 100 points at 26:35.48.

It might not look too bad, especially to those who favor barbell-centric workouts. But in my experience, the workouts that look easiest on paper tend to be the deadliest of all, and Linda — or the “Three Bars of Death,” as CrossFit athlete Scott Kustes dubbed it back in 2004 — is no exception. Two changes make this spin on Linda interesting: the use of dumbbells instead of barbells on the bench — anyone got a new nickname idea? — and a standard loading prescription as opposed to bodyweight.
