Many of today’s plays and theatre is heavily influenced by the politics of the time, which has always been a goal of theatre, even in Stanislavski’s time. The only thing that really changes in terms of politics is the politics of the time. Now more than ever, plays focus on social media, government, presidency, LGBTQ+, and feminism, only to name a few ideas. It really shows the change in theatre over time by focusing on today’s issues, but even in some older plays, the issues are still relevant.
