Yuki- onna 雪女 is a spirit ( yōkai ) in Japanese folklore. In many stories, The "snow woman" appears to travelers trapped in snowstorms, and uses her icy breath to leave them as frost-coated corpses.

Yuki-Onna (littéralement femme des neiges) est un personnage du folklore qui est souvent confondu à tort avec Yama-Uba. Yuki-Onna est décrite comme une belle femme, grande avec de longs cheveux sombres et une peau inhumainement blanche, quasiment transparente. Elle porte un kimono blanc, bien que certaines légendes la décrivent comme étant nue. Malgré sa grande beauté, ses yeux frappent de terreur.
