Thomas Sankara : 1949 -1987. Chef d'état Burkinabé de 1983 à 1987. Panafricaniste et Anti-impérialiste, il mena avec son gouvernement une politique visant à combattre la corruption et à améliorer l'éducation et l'économie de son pays. Homme charismatique, Il fit changer le nom de son pays de Haute volta, issu de la colonisation, en Burkinafasso, nom africain signifiant pays des hommes intègres.
