One of my all time favourite cakes. Best served warm with clotted cream ice cream. River cottage pear and almond cake. A really good cake, not too sweet, and can be made with apples or pears.
We love a sausage roll but it’s hard to get good ones and even harder to know if the pork in them is free-range or organic. Far better to make your own for the party season.
