The Gila Monster is found almost exclusively in AZ; they eat sporadically, maybe Venom is not fatal to humans or is it used to subdue prey; venom serves as a protective mechanism.

gila monster. Monster perhaps but beautiful.  I had a baby Gila literally blow up onto my porch during a desert sandstorm. I tried to keep him, but my mom shot down the idea.
