"Don't Give an Inch!" Colonel Strong Vincent shouted these words while defending Little Round Top before he was mortally wounded on July 2, 1863. While there were many heroes of Little Round Top, Vincent deserves a lot of credit. When Gouverneur K. Warren discovered Little Round Top unprotected, Vincent's brigade was the closest Union force. Vincent immediately lead his men to protect the hill. Unfortunately, Colonel Strong Vincent succumbed to his wounds on July 7, 1863.
