French vintage chimney cowl revolving roman helmet style in galvanised metal vintage and useable.
The customer had signs of damp on the chimney breast in the attic. After inspecting the chimney it was visible that the stonework had become porous. To rectify this we used a chimney cream called storm dry. This is far better than any other water proofer on the market. It’s absorbed by the stone and lasts for 25 years! We also added a ventilation cowl to the chimney pot to stop down draft and water going down the chimney pot.

Least Expected Chimney Feature Lisa Peters photo. This is a chimney cowl. I had never heard of chimney cowls before I launched my Chimney Contests. Cowls supposedly keep the wind from blowing back down a chimney. They also help keep birds and squirrels from nesting inside.
