The Penny Bun mushroom represents the wild mushroom par excellence. It was given the appropriate nickname 'Penny Bun' because of it's well-baked colour and round shape. Whole caps are excellent grilled!
Cep Mushroom (boletus Edulis) Framed Print by Bjorn Svensson
These mushrooms grow in late spring and summer on the ground in the upland woods, often at the edges of trails. Often seen after late spring and summer rains and despite being quite a vivid colour and look are in fact edible including the stalk!
