The blue whale (Balaenoptera musculus) is a baleen whale whose diet consists almost exclusively of krill.  It can grow to 98’ long & 190 short tons…it is the largest known animal ever to have existed.  It is various shades of bluish-grey dorsally & lighter underneath.  There are at least 3 distinct subspecies that are found in the North Atlantic & Pacific Oceans & the Indian Ocean.
