Great Synagogue towers, Budapest. There were many, many Jews in Budapest before the Holocaust (24% of the population). Jews were attracted by the liberal policies of Austro-Hungary, which allowed them to flourish in law, medicine, banking, commerce and even the government bureaucracy. Many synagogues remain.

After a long day of meetings it's always good to shake of the long day and clear your head with a nice spring evening walk. Much more so when you're visiting Budapest and can stroll through the old Buda Castle and enjoy the best city view that the town has to offer.
