The High Priest at the Table of Shewbread. In a biblical or Jewish context, shewbread refers to the cakes or loaves of bread which were always on a specially dedicated table, in the Temple in Jerusalem as an offering to God. An alternative, and more appropriate, translation would be presence bread, since the Bible requires that the bread be constantly in the presence of God (Exodus 25:30).

God's presence at the Tabernacle. And so God dwelled among His people in the tabernacle in the wilderness. He appeared as a pillar of cloud over the tabernacle by day and a pillar of fire by night in the sight of all Israel. The people would not set out on their journey unless the cloud lifted. It was an unmistakably powerful visual statement indicating God’s presence among them.

Eucharistic Miracle of Lanciano, Italy. In the 8th century AD, a monk doubted that in the consecrated Host there was truly the Body of Our Lord and in the chalice, His Blood. He celebrated the Mass and after pronouncing the words of consecration, he saw the Host change into flesh and the wine into blood. The laboratory tests, done several times and by different experts in recent years, confirm that this is human flesh and human blood, which are preserved incorrupt.

Inside the ark were 3 things. The 2 tables of the Law. A golden pot of manna and Aaron's rod that budded. The Ark of the Covenant was where Gods justice and judgement toward sin was satisfied. It is referred to almost 200 times in the Old Testament. 1 Chr 6:41 "Now therefore, arise, O LORD God, to Your resting place, you and the ark of Your strength. Let Your priests, O LORD God, be clothed with salvation, and let Your saints rejoice in goodness.

Within the Holy of Holies, shielded from the eye of the common man, was one piece of furniture comprising two parts: the Ark of the Covenant and the atonement cover (or “mercy seat”) on top of it. The ark was a chest made of acacia wood, overlaid with pure gold inside and out. It was 3 feet, 9 inches long and 2 feet, 3 inches wide and high. God commanded Moses to put in the ark three items: a golden pot of manna, Aaron’s staff that had budded, and the Ten Commandments.
