April is Limb Loss & Limb Difference Awareness Month

The love I have for this body still fluctuates. As much as I preach body acceptance and liberation, I am still navigating that for myself each and every day. I was born missing the lower half of my leg at birth, had to undergo countless revision surgeries, was severely bullied, hated my body for many years, and ended up hiding my limb difference from the world for a long time. My story hasn’t been linear (but who’s is) and it used to be difficult for me to identity & open the discussion around this month, but I’m proud of how that has changed over time. I want to dedicate this month to raise awareness about what it’s like living with limb difference & show how we live without limits 🙂 amputee, amputee girl, amputee model, disabled and beautiful, disability, prosthetic leg
