This project was inspired by some wonderful cut and torn landscapes at Angela Anderson Art Blog and New City Arts. Since I'm in the middle of my Animal Art Fun class I decided to utilize the colorful textured watercolor backgrounds against the graphic look of a black and white zebra. I had a chance to collaborate recently with the marketing department at Strathmore Paper, and really enjoyed developing this cover artwork for a new product that will be released in the fall. It’s a wonderfully thick, crisp black pad of paper that is perfect for dried glue and pastel projects. No more curly grayish construction paper, yay! My abstract leaf drawing was made by drawing with white glue, letting it dry, and coloring it with chalk pastels.

Draw colorful "fireworks" on black paper—or asphalt. They pop into spectacular 3-D when you look through the special glasses. Chalk fireworks make any day, or night, a celebration.
