A robot named "Treebot", developed by the Chinese University of Hong Kong, climbs upbanboo. Treebot has two grippers that dig into bark and allow the device to wriggle up a tree like a caterpillar. It weighs less than 1 kg (2.2 lbs), can carry a camera and is designed to climb trees in place of humans, to perform health checks, reported the South China Morning Post.
