Scarlet O'Hara Peony — Countryside Gardens, Inc. - Peony Farm

Red Satin Peony

(Sass) This is a largely unknown variety that we consider to be one of the best of the true red doubles. Stems are strong, flower form is exceptional, and the color does not get any better. Blooms early season.

Red Grace Peony — Countryside Gardens, Inc. - Peony Farm

(Glasscock/R.G. Klehm, 1980) This very large, globe-shaped flower is quite unusual for a hybrid. The foliage holds up throughout the growing season, but the plant may require staking. Blooms early in the season and is 30-36" tall.

Red Charm Peony — Countryside Gardens, Inc. - Peony Farm

Paeonia x Smouthii Peony — Countryside Gardens, Inc. - Peony Farm

It is earlier blooming than the fern leaf peony and rarely seen in the landscape. Often listed as the species Paeonia anomala, but easily identified as Paeonia x smouthii by the side buds. Extra early blooming with a height of 24-30".

Old Faithful Peony — Countryside Gardens, Inc. - Peony Farm

(Glasscock/Falk, 1964) In our opinion, this is the best in its class. A true red fully double on strong stems with excellent foliage. Color is sun-fast and won't fade. Blooms early season. American Peony Society Gold Medal Winner (1997).

Nippon Beauty Peony — Countryside Gardens, Inc. - Peony Farm

(Auten, 1927) This is one of the best red Japanese types, flaunting deep red flowers with gold-tipped centers. Petals, petaloids, and the tips of carpels are all the same color. Blooms mid-season and is 30" tall.
