The Rietveld Schröder House (also known as the Schröder House) in Utrecht was built in 1924 by Dutch architect Gerrit Rietveld for Mrs. Truus Schröder-Schräder[.The house is one of the best known examples of De Stijl-architecture.
The perfect minimalistic interior of The Schroder House. Rietveld was a member of ‘De Stijl’ (The Style), an artistic movement with artists like Piet Mondrian, who searched for a new ideal of harmony and order. Compositions were made of straight lines and primary colors, plus black and white. The Rietveld Schröder House fits the ideals of The Style. It is the most influential domestic building of the early modern period.
