Naturally this makes Parasite a deadly foe for Superman, for he cannot only weaken the Man of Steel but then turn around and fight him with his own stolen powers. In this state the Parasite also becomes temporarily aware that Clark Kent and Superman are one in the same, and so poses a deadly threat to Lois, Jimmy or anyone else close to Clark.
