The Oriental pattern dates from 1885 and has three elements recurring in its pattern: an open fan, the rising sun and bamboo. It was initially made by Branford Lock Works in 1885.

Branford Lock Works first produced this popular Eastlake pattern in 1884. Recurring design components include an open fan, the rising sun and bamboo. Noteworthy is the detailing on the reverse side of the doorknobs and on each hinge reveal that shows when the door is closed.

Bronze Oriental pattern entry back plate. This plate is from the late 1880's. The overall dimensions are 7 1/4 inches by 1 7/8 inches wide. The opening for the doorknob measures 5/8 inches. The center of the doorknob to the center of the first keyhole measures 1 3/4 inches. The center of the doorknob to the center of the second keyhole measures 3 inches. Screws are included with purchase. One single back plate is available.
