These aggressive spiders grab onto their victims and bite several times, injecting a very poisonous venom. Some people have died from the bite of these spiders, but since 1980 when a Sydney funnel-web spider antivenom was invented, no-one has died from the bite of a Sydney funnel-web spider.

If you have or have had a rash like this, run to your doctor - it's the first sign of lyme disease. I had two bites like this last summer and shrugged them off as spider bites. Now I'm so incredibly fatigued and achey....I'm so glad I figured this out. Now for some treatment!

Venom toxicity - the bite of Orb-Weaving Spiders is of low risk (not toxic) to humans. They are a non-aggressive group of spiders. Seldom bite. Be careful not to walk into their webs at night - the fright of this spider crawling over one's face can be terrifying and may cause a heart attack, particularly to the susceptible over 40 year olds.
