Everyone has extra Legos under foot. Put them on the shoe box lid. I glued a base piece on the lid and added all those left over pieces. Add some figures and a vehicle. Don't you think any child would have fun? I did get one suggestion to velcro the base so the child can remove it from the lid. Maybe include the pieces in a zip lock bag or small container so they can be kept from being "under foot".
Make a little town with a road when you are including small cars or vehicles. I pulled a pic from the web, but more artistic people can come up with better looking roads. Include a couple of cars and let the kids "Go to town" Of course, you can come up with more things with which to have the child be interactive - one little girl drew a castle and is going to add the princess and other things for her little girl box. DIY Cloth Pad Tutorial
When you print your pattern, you’ll want to do it twice. Cut one copy for the whole pad pattern, this will be used with your cotton velour, PUL, and decorative fabric. The other will be for the soaker (cut around the dotted lines), that you’ll use for your absorbent fabric. This greatly reduces bulk when you turn and topstitch.
