Adam Johnson on Instagram: "Rainbow Roses fired in the microwave 🔥 I love this way of firing pottery as I really think it makes pottery more affordable and accessible. Here I’m Raku firing the clay roses but you can do all ceramic firings! Bisque, earthenware, stoneware and even porcelain 1300 !! This glaze is my favourite pottery glaze for raku as it shows how reduction works, you can see the rose change colour from green to copper as the reduced oxygen brings the metals to the surface in a reaction…. Or magic, Then as it cools rainbows appear before the whole piece is dipped in water to stop the precious rainbows from vanishing! It’s a different result every time and is so much fun to do! I get told a lot that it’s not real pottery but I just think it’s new? What do you think??? #potte
