In the living space of interior designer Deborah French’s eclectic Manhattan loft, she fashioned a pi-shaped sectional out of three custom mattresses upholstered in lemon-yellow damask and a wood platform. The pile of colorful pillows hails from Uzbekistan, and the cocktail table had a past life as a 19th-century Indian grain grinder.
