34 Lost Cities Forgotten by Time
Caral..Located in the Supe Valley in Peru, Caral is one of the most ancient lost cities of the Americas. It was as inhabited between roughly 2600 BC and 2000 BC. Accommodating more than 3,000 inhabitants, it is one of the largest cities of the Norte Chico civilization. It has a central public area with six large platform mounds arranged around a huge plaza.
Work on 'terrace houses' at Ephesus completed
Ephesus excavation president Dr. Sabine Ladstaetter said there were a total of 78 rooms and different wall drawings in the houses. Among those wall drawings, eight have been resorted. The wall drawings are very important, according to Ladstaetter. “These wall drawings start form the first century and continue to the third century. We can see them in one room,” she said. World's only surviving Bronze Age metropolis in Pakistan faces ruin. The city of Mohenjodaro, a major center of pre-Hindu Indus civilization dating to 3000 BC with approximately 40,000 inhabitants, is under threat from salt and weather conditions that get as hot as 51 degree Celsius. Things found at the site include sewer lines, a granary, and many other interesting buildings.
