I'd thought for a long time that smoothed concrete would be the ultimate flooring choice for me, but I love this grey hardwood. There are a lot of them that try to look like salvaged wood and emphasize the texture too much, but I kind of like how this almost doesn't look like wood. I envision pairing it with simple, solid black baseboards and white walls.
**Update:I keep coming back to this one. It's speaking to me. It's rapidly becoming my favorite inspiration.** I think that this look is the most possible with our current appliances and setup. I really like the dark grey with the warm wood and the rustic touches which work really well with the industrial elements. I also like the hanging pots and the dishes on display. I even like the concrete floor and suspect that we might have one under our linoleum.
